KJW G23 Problems

Postby Thantos1 » Wed Sep 12, 2012 5:44 pm

Hey AP, I am having some serious issues with my KJW G23. I have had it for close to a year, and have treated it with the utmost care. I have lubed it after every game, and made sure not to have any huge drops or bangs.

A few days ago, I got some new magazines for it, from WE and KWA. I at first had some problems getting the KWA magazine to run, but it eventually started to work. Today, however, the problems started. Every time I tried to fire off any rounds, from any of the magazines, I would hear just a dull click. Then, it was temporarily fixed after lubing the fill valves and the hopup unit in the body of the gun. Then, they all started to vent the entire magazine of gas into the air each time I tried to pull the trigger, or would fire on full auto a few times, then vent the whole magazine.

Can anyone help me? Is it curtains for the Glock, already?

Thanks in advance.

its my understanding that only WE/KJW mags will work. KSC/KWA is not compatible.

The problems are happening with all of the mags, WE, KJW, and KWA.

EDIT: Could the KWA mag have torn or messed something up in the body of the gun, and that is what is causing all of these problems?

Sounds to me like a problem somewhere in the sear area of the gun, either the sear or sear spring, or knocker/knocker spring. It is likely not a problem caused by the mags.

How difficult/ expensive would it be to replace one or both of those parts?

Depends on what's broken. Probably in the order of $10-15?

I've never ordered from KJW before, so I'm not sure. You should have it looked at by a professional to make sure it's not just a spring that came out or something relatively simple.

If I understand correctly WE Glock magazines are based off the Tokyo Marui 3rd Gen Glock 17, which is different from the KJW Glock 23 (derived from the older TM Glock 26.) The overall design should be similar, as it was all designed by Tanio Kobe but specific bullet valve dimensions, gasket quality / fit and whatnot could be different enough to wear down the pistol faster and cause issues.

KWA mags are just straight non-compatible.

Another possibility though is that you inserted the magazine with the trigger pulled and the hammer down, meaning the valve knocker was poking out and got damaged. Have you examined those parts?
