Seized G18 trigger

Postby binicb2r » Mon Aug 12, 2013 4:13 pm

Im not sure of the make of the gun. Some idiot before me took a file to the slide and wore off all the marks if it had any marks at any time. I think its KWA but not 100%.

Any who, because Im an idiot and dont have the worlds smallest allen key to fix the issue there is an extra spring in the upper that causes it to be full auto or full auto, which is fine except my local field has some semi auto only rule which makes the gun jam all the time when trying to do 2-3 round bursts. During one of these bursts it jammed and once I got it cleared it felt like the hammer had been jammed back.

I got a chance to tear down the lower and found the trigger group works fine but the trigger bar will not move the sear back. With a tool I can tap the sear and drop the hammer. No missing springs. The hammer is fairly new and the gun was recently rebuilt with other various new parts.

Any suggestions of what to look at?

This should be pretty easy.

With the magazine out, rack the slide.

Put the selector in neutral (between fire and safe).

Pull the takedown lever, slide the slide off the frame.

Behind the trigger is a plastic block that slides vertically. It can be accessed in the magwell.

Push that block down. It should slide back into place.

Reverse to reassemble.
