OE-TECH MICH 2000 ACH

Postby Rivera » Sun Oct 14, 2012 8:31 pm

Im looking to purchase a MICH Helmet, and the closest thing that I've found is the MICH 2000 ACH by OE-TECH. I was posting to see if anyone has had any experience with one so i can have a better opinion on whether i should get that or another replica. If you guys have any other suggestions that would be much appreciated too!

This is the helmet:

From what i've put together from other research is that it is fiberglass, however i also hear the pads and chin strap is just garbage

Save your pennies and buy a Protech or a real one.

MUCH better than the replicas.

Or buy a replica Ops-Core. I've heard that the Dragon Red ones are the best for your cash.

Please, please don't be another guy who thinks just because it's real it's better than a replica for airsoft. Hell, why buy an AEG at all? Real M4s are more durable, and people really call their hits!

OP: I don't know anything about that helmet in particular, but I'll let you know as I read more. I've been looking at helmets for a month or so reading up. The best advice I can give is to read the negative reviews on every helmet you come across. Those'll give you some fair insight.

B. McCormick wrote:One other thing I noticed about this helmet is that mounting bolts for the chin strap are off, the left front bolt on mine is about an inch off compared to the front right and the rear right is kinda low compared to the left.

The suspension on most helmets is sub-par. The only replica helmet with solid suspension that I've tried is the Emerson Fast Helmet Replica.

Most of the MICH or IBH helmets have sub-par padding and straps. Now, you could replace the chinstrap on the replicas with the H-Nape Suspension or go full-hog with the Dial Liner Replacement Helmet Suspension, but the price of a MICH + the Suspension is probably getting close to or over the Fast helmet anyway.

I've found that the thin pads on the IBH helmets don't keep them in place, and the straps don't adjust small enough to fit most average peoples' heads. The MICH helmets have soft padding, but it's not super stable, and the straps aren't the best quality, so they don't stay put very well.

I have a fiberglass, I think, MICH 2000, with Marine issue helmet suspension system. Works great. When you buy your MICH, be ready to buy a new suspension system. Like Welshy said, go to a surplus store or order a surplus one online. Also you might want to get the Oregon Aero pad system too, its what I have and its really comfy. Be prepared to spend about a 100 bucks all said and done, what with the helmet, straps, and the cover.

The thing is that you can nab your self a real helmet (resale value) for the same price or cheaper as a fake one if you know where to look. Check BOOKOO around military bases, craigslist, or dozens of other places. Happy hunting.

I use a replica FAST helmet and like it. Suspension is good, and it stays put.

Best option for a ballistic. Just got mine, fits great and has modern accessories, i.e. NVG shroud and ARC rails. Plus suspension is durable and functional

The suspension *feels* durable, perhaps?
