Running hydro with a chest rig?

Postby Shiloh » Wed Dec 12, 2012 5:17 pm

I've got a 7-pociket Condor chest rig that I'm switching to, after I realized that my replica weesatch is just too damn bulky for me. (Shameless plug: It's for sale) I had been running a MOLLE pouch for the weesatch when I was using it, but obviously that isn't going to work for the chest rig. Do you guys know of anything that I could do to run a hydro pack with a rig like this? Or am I just going to have to switch to canteens?

A hydro backpack? They're pretty common with people running chest rigs.

If I read that correctly I believe he meant a hydro pouch. Molle attachable to his web gear. I would awesome you could find some way to attach straps so you could wear it over or under the Chest rig

I'll give the hydro backpack a shot, see if I can't fit it underneath the straps.

Though if I can find the time, I might try to finagle something in the way of a MOLLE panel for it.

I used to run a Condor chest rig with a hydro pack. It's pretty simple, really. You just put the chest rig on and then put the pack over it. It's not uncomfortable and it works great. Contrary to some people's beliefs, one's rig does not have to be all in one piece.

Ahh, I see how that works. Thanks for the ideas, guys. I might just pick up a cheap pack for my camelbak and see how it works out.
