OPS CORE Carbon FAST Identification/value?

Postby bye » Mon Dec 24, 2012 2:50 am

Hey guys, I have very little experience in real steel gear but have come to a conundrum.

I'm being offered an authentic OPS-CORE Carbon FAST helmet for my SR10. What are the helmets valued at nowadays? How easy is it to tell from fakes? Are there any telltale signs to look for? Please help. Googling it showed a few results, but those were going for $500+. Are they really that valuable?
Bye.

Yes. The Carbon helmet retails for $593, and looking at completed listings on eBay you can get quite a bit more if it's the real thing.

Have you considered writing Ops-Core to ask them this question? I bet they'd know better than us. :)

I would, but I'd feel awkward. Especially since the seller says they fell off a truck.

What would you say fair re-sale for one of them would be though?

He also has a ballistic FAST helmet he may trade... But I'm awaiting pics/proof. He seems really legit though.

the easiest way to tell for the carbon is well, to look at the inside for the material it's made of, it should be carbon fiber. Another easy way to tell is to look at the resin coating on the inside of the helmet, you'll notice a raised opscore logo and helmet size on the top center.

Mine has a serial number on the inside. There should also be a white Opscore sticker on the inside. Post up good photos, of the inside especially.
I do hope that after all this discreditable shuffling we may be taken into action. It has a wonderful way of reconciling a man with himself: and with everybody else, sometimes. - 1st Lt. James Dillon

..........

Actually it would matter. If Army Criminal Investigations Division doesn't come a'knockin', some civilian federal agency will. Possession of stolen property is still a crime. It's even more fun when it's government property.

1. Illegal activity is NOT tolerated. Do not intentionally or even jokingly talk about committing illegal activity with Airsoft replicas. Doing this will definitely result in you being barred from attending events and banned from using these forums. Also please note that members of Law Enforcement agencies frequent this board
