Postby bye » Tue Jan 15, 2013 12:49 am

To be blunt there isn't one "That is the best in all terrains", However MultiCam would come close to it. For me I found that CADPAT TW for woodland terrain works very well and CADPAT AR or MultiCam work well for all the rest. Just my $0.02 :)

For the West side of the mountains, Temperate(woodland) MARPAT works the best. During winter when it's raining people disa-fuckin'-ppear in the shit.
OD works well as a general intermediate. And of course good ole trusty M81 Woodland.
The Greenzone Pencott seems to work really well during the summer when we have brighter greens.
Multicam tends to work great in late summer/early fall.

I haven't experienced MARPAT to be that effective. In the deep forests sometimes, but if we're moving in the open, it seems we kinda stick out.

Solid OD, hadn't thought of that.. Unfortunately I don't already own it, so I probably won't run that. Would solid OD Top/bottom work for any military-style kits?

Pencott is way above anyone's budget locally-

MC seems to work alright in everywhere to some degree. Maybe become where my group plays, it's pretty brown, not green. Even in the spring/summer. My preference for MultiCam comes from, I've never once seen it be detrimental to one's ability to "sneak". Maybe not help. but def not hurt. (Agree/disagree?)

Reminder: I am looking for an ALL-Terrain camo. Doesn't have to be the invisibility cloak EVERYWHERE, just can't be like ACUs, shit everywhere. lol

Just an add-on, most of the team is not willing to buy multiple uniforms to try to guess where we'll be playing.

OD works for an IDF kit, that's about it.

Alpenflauge is perfect for the fall months, plus it's pretty cheap.

Being that we don't live in the desert, this is not really possible.
Start with one set, you'll eventually get more.
I started with M81 Woodland.
Now I have ACU/UCP, DCU, M81 Woodland, MARPAT Temperate, MARPAT Arid, Multicam/OCP, and OD. And there are multiple sets or tops of each. Which, for some people on here isn't much at all.
You just acquire the stuff over time.

Sure, if you want to limit yourself to 5 or 6 mediocre patterns. You're not going to find a "best camo for all Oregon environments" unless you expand to include international military, and LE used patterns.

ATACs FG is pretty good stuff, but my favorite is still flecktarn. Check out http://www.kamouflage.net

Sitka Forest is the best camo for the Western NW. But it's not tacticool, just effective.

Otherwise woodland, m81, or marpat. I use MC in the summer, but still stick out.

Why? Are you racist against the rest of the world camo patterns? I've seen flektarn work pretty well. I think Danish M84 looks like it would be pretty good but you'd have to get Strike's input.

Personally, I like the W/D MARPAT. Only because I live in a wooded area. I like Multi-Cam as well. If it was going to be ALL of Oregon, I would advise to go with Multi-Cam.

Just considering US Military issued Camouflage. I think Temerate Marpat works the best for year round use in Oregon.

If you only had to buy one uniform, and you wanted the most effective for Oregon, I would say here is the list of my top choices

Before the list, I'd say that the pattern itself or OD gear works best. RG is too grey, tan is ridiculous, and Coyote Brown is I guess passable.

1.) PenCott GreenZone
Image
2.) PenCott Badlands with GreenZone or OD gear
Image
3.) A ghillie suit
Image
4.) Spec4ce - Timber
Image
5.) Russian SPECTRE camouflage
Image
5.) Tiger Stripe (US modern type. Fading makes it worthless. )Image
(Russian Kamysh type. Fading makes it better. )
Image
6.) A-TACS FG
Image
7.) Multicam
Image
7.) MARPAT
Image
8.) Russian OD (gorkas)
(it works somehow phenomenal. And it works in both dry and wet, green and brown areas. I am amazed at how good it works every time I see it in a new environment IE last weekend's BSP II event, that was very snowed in)
Image
9.) Realtree Timber
Image
10.) Swedish M90
(I had a pair of pants in it and they worked surprisingly well in Oregon)
