Plates for Condor MOPC

Postby Goliath17 » Tue Feb 12, 2013 10:58 pm

I have a condor MOPC and I'm trying to find replica plates for it, but I can't find any that would work. If you know of any please help, thanks
This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me my rifle is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless.

Generally SAPI replicas should work?
Are they too big? Cut them.
Also, you can always get cutting boards from IKEA for like $1. You may have to just cut and sand the top part to make the curve.
Very sturdy, cheaper than foam, and has a little weight.

AONW sells medium dummy plates if you want curved plates over the flatness of a cutting board.

I was thinking sometime of trying to heat some up in an oven or soemthing, where they're a little pliable, and shape them.

It should work as long as you have something to form it on.

I haven't tried the cutting board route since my chest shape doesn't work well with a flat surface being pressed into it, and they aren't thick enough to look like plates. Though gluing a couple together might work...

I found some leftover Plexiglass in the woodshop and cut two pieces into the dimensions of SAPI plates. I then used a blowtorch to custom mold them to my beautiful body. They're rigid, light, and give my Condor MOPC the much needed SAPI Viagra.

You could actually use an oven at ~200 F to do the same, but you'd need some heavy leather work gloves. Every hardware store in the country should have Plexiglass, I'd go to ACE personally.
