Hydration packs with pouches?

Postby shakespeare » Sun Mar 24, 2013 9:49 pm

I recently bought a plate carrier. I'm liking it, but I'd like to kit it out a little more. I want a hydration pack (capacity doesn't matter too much), but I'd also like to be able to carry a little bit of extra gear (nothing major at all, just batteries, a power bar, and a small bag of BB's).
I used to have a Condor pack with pouches like this one.

I didn't like it that much because it was far bigger than I needed, and flopped around a bunch.

I like this setup (I don't need the smoke grenades or radio, though)

I guess that's an Eagle MAP. Seems like a nice rig that would fit my needs. Are there any packs like it that might serve my needs?

Eagle MAP or a clone of it would work well for what you need it to do.

Getting a clone MAP pack would be good. I use one that ive shortened with zipties on my JPC for hydro and some extra gear.

You can grab them on ebay, the repros, for about $40 bucks.

Are the repros any good? I'm guessing Pantac?

Pantac, indeed. And they rock. The buckles are a tiny bit weak, but you can always buy new ones for them.

Otherwise build quality is just great. Very good 40 bucks spent.
