Saw these in a preview of the new battlefield 4 im surprised i could only find one company that makes them. I really want to grab a pair and try them out , i would love to have the versatility of a scope and iron sites on the same gun. What do you guys think ?

the ones shown swivel out to 45 degrees i believe. The offset concept itself has been done a ton of times. But the swivel is what sets these ones apart from the other 45 degree sights.

also, they just help you sight in on a target without having to adjust your scope if it is magnified. Since changing magnification on a scope can mess with your zero. I know this is definitely the case on the spectreDR scopes.

They are also good for tracking targets and for quick use in case of a primary optic failure.

In airsoft they are pretty much useless, if you are close enough to have to switch to iron sights, then you shouldnt even need to aim. Just look down the gun at where your bbs are going. 90% of the time i do this anyways, scope is just for looks

also, you can just buy a 45 degree rail segment, or adapter and put standard BUIS on them. No need for the 290 dollar BUIS.

Has anyone tried those sights that have a mirror at a 45 degree angle? Like to see around corners?

I have used a 45 offset sight (red dot since I have a magnified scope on top) in game and it's not that effective. Super close range sure if you spend enough time tuning it in but overall it just makes sense to run your optic on a riser so that you can use iron sights by sighting through the optic.

I have this dot sight. Worked great for AK platform but too short for basic M4 sights.

Offset sights are for competition shooters to transition from 300-100yd rifle shooting to sub 20yd shooting. In airsoft they wouldn't help much due to the rainbow like trajectory of our projectiles.

That said, do what you think looks cool. This game is mostly just a fashion show anyways.
