BALCS in a "Slick" Carrier or Plate Carrier

Postby Switchback » Sun Jul 14, 2013 8:37 pm

To all knowledgeable geardo enthusiasts:

I'm looking for a reasonably priced option to hold BALCS/SPEAR Level III Soft Armor, specifically in size large. I'm a fan of the CIRAS, but am looking for anything that will hold these inserts.

Bonus points for things that are not RRV's ;)

If anybody know good replicas of the CIRAS or RBAV, that's a high-priority. Also, Slick carriers are a big plus, because I could run a chest rig over it.

Thanks!

RRVs can't hold soft armor anyway, that's why you see people wearing it underneath.

Pantac makes a replica CIRAS and RBAV, is there are reason you're not looking at those?

Otherwise, I think there's a vel-tye hugger replica around as well, but I'm not sure what cut the replica is in. http://dragonredairsoft.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=33_34&products_id=182

That carrier you linked is gorgeous... And cheap! Awesome.

I'm not specifically avoiding pantac.

If you're looking for a slick BALCS carrier, go check out the Eagle LVAC. You can get them for pretty cheap.

Or just avoid BALCS cut carriers as a whole now, since you've got an abundance of better platforms out there now.

Also, regarding the replica, if you're sure you want it...

I'm assuming that he's already got the armor.
