12 Gauge Belt Fed Shotgun

Postby Gatorlangman » Wed Feb 06, 2008 2:00 pm

hey guys, I just finished our RC-P240 and I'm already working on another project :D

My idea is a belt fed 12 gauge shotgun that will be powered by an air compressor. The reason it would be powered by an Air compressor is because it would be a stationary gun that our field would use.. I could hook it up to co2 and have it portable but belt fed systems are typically heavy. So this one will be stationary for the time being...

I already have the loading and firing systems down, so now I just have to work on the "eye candy".

Any design will do because its gonna be used mainly in the role of a new top secret weapon used by the "insert name here" country...

So as far as looks im open to ideas.

notice the Air inlet I made for the last picture... this is so the main burst of air that would come from the sprinkler valve will be more focused to the hole in the back of the shell rather than the whole backside.. the sprinkler valve/expansion chamber isn't shown in the picture..

I have an idea of what I'm going to make it look like but I'm open to ideas.

I kinda like that idea... the mk.19 is a 40mm belt fed but yeah... I could make a 19mm (shotgun shell size) belt fed...

The shell is 3/4 inch which if I did the math right in my head = 19mm...

So I guess it would put a new meaning to Mk. 19

I will post a picture of the design I was thinking of here soon..

lol the front of the gun would be on the left side of the picture...

The trigger would either be behind the large trigger guard or would be housed partially inside of it...
Im still open to ideas

You'll need alot of Maruzen shells for that project.

This guy wants to make belt fed shotgun. Not vertical magazine fed.

I'd actually be using real empty shells with their primer drilled out.. I will buy the bags of these empty shells because they are soooo cheap.

The shell would hold 30 or so bbs and would be fired pneumatically.

All the projects that I do, I try to make them as cheap but effective as possible... The estimated cost for this project is about $16

I was planning on making my own version of the Airsoft Surgeon shells. Also I would make my own magazine. I'm already working on making my TM SPAS metal and gas. But a Belt fed shotty would be pretty cool. Like you said, mini Mk. 19.
