You can attach a bright colored nylon streamer to the 'igniter', fold it up accordian-style, punch a hole through that and have the pin go through the folded up streamer. That way when you pull the pin it lets the streamer unfurl, leaving an easier to find four foot tape to find on the field.

I have some old airsoft body pins I could use and use a mixture of elec. tape and wire for the rings.

Dont use body pins, worst case use a metal coat hanger for the pins.

Do realize that the pins aren't really necessary, also. Most people just use the PVC or the cork and don't worry about pins.

Is there any other adhesive I could use? I don't have any JB weld. Would hot glue work? Also is there a difference between the cork and pvc in how well it lasts on the field.

Hot glue would work, but dont be surprised if the top of the grenade breaks off mid game. If it is a true wood cork, it is not going to last very long, a rubber work would last longer.

Why not just use large cotter pins like real granades use? They are cheap. Just run a key ring through the hairpin bend and you are done.

The only reason I didnt use cotter pins is because they were out of the size I needed. But good insight Shepard, use whatever is cheapest.

Only a few Dollars to make. Pull ring to unfurl 3-4" blaze orange ribbon. I wanted to fill the hollow space with shot or sand for deadweight but that would suck to get clunked with.

Not bad! I would have taken a vibrating sander to the tennis ball or somethin. Or at least something to get that weird hairy stuff off it :?

A while back I made a bunch of dummy grenades for myself and the Fragistan commandos, but I decided not to go with the standard style grenade. Instead I made mine as stick grenade replicas out of a couple PVC end caps (1.25 inch), about 2 inches of pve and used a length of wooden dowel for the handle (5 inches? Don't remember).
I stained and varnished the handles and painted the "grenade" flat black until I was satisfied, then I drilled a hole in one of the endcaps and screwed it into the handle.
Overall it was a pretty nice replica and the best part about it was they fit perfectly in some Chinese milsurp grenade pouches.
Ivan daylovitch and I wear them to games often if you're curious how they look.

I'd be glad if events regulated that you couldn't just use tennis balls. Some guy could just go to coscto and buy 50 for his team, and then they just all chuck one or two and then bam my whole team is out.
This is my signature. Hear it roar.

I almost got knocked in the head at Scappoose with one of those. They looked good.
