Ruger MKI Hushpuppy Project

Postby Eyes On » Sat Dec 11, 2010 11:02 pm

We got some new KJW Ruger MKI NBB pistols in at AONW, and I couldn't resist picking one up. They retail for $60, and they fire about 400FPS... a perfect opportunity for me to see how far I could take a gun.

Goals:
- Build a full length barrel shroud resembling the integrated surpressor of the MKI/II series. --DONE--

- Fit a full length 6.03 barrel.
--Outer barrel diameter is NOT standard, C-clips need to be fitted in custom slots. Chamber end needs to be turned down on lathe.

- Fit two barrel bushings to maintain accuracy.
--Barrel moves as the trigger is squeezed.

- Replace the existing iron sights with a micro red dot.

I know this is a couple weeks old, but I've built a similar gun:

Originally with a standard SOCOM style can and Hogue wrap-around grips:

Now, with a somewhat more appealing custom can that needs more paint  :

The Hogue grips require quite a bit of dremmel work to fit right, and I unfortunately misplaced the original grip screws, so I need to find another set...
Well, you can start a new topic and get flamed for not searching, or you can search and get flamed for necro-posting. It's really your choice...
