Dremel+plus hop up=???

Postby Patrick750 » Sun Feb 13, 2011 12:44 am

So i recently bought a really nice Madbull hop up unit but it doesn't fit in my G&P. The wings on the side of the hop up unit are too thick. Would it be worth it to take a dremel and thin them down a little bit? Should I get a different one? I'm sure someone else has had the same problem as me, how did you approach it? (Sorry if this is in the wrong thread but when i think of dremel and airsoft i think of custom project)

edit: BTW its a full metal one piece hop up

Yep, just make sure to dremel until the metal is about as thin as a finger nail.

If the wings are too thin will the barrel and hop up wobble around?

Possibly. Dremel a little bit, than test fit. Dremel some more, and test fit. If you want to get really awesome, paint the tabs with nail polish, test fit, and see what parts wear off the paint. Those parts are to thick. If paint stays on, it's thin enough to fit.

Than it's not the wings that are the problem.

Is it the madbull 3 in 1 hop up unit?

Maybe the wings are too long, not too thick. G&G hop up does not fit well in Echo1, and some brands are just slightly different proportions.

EDIT

I got my G&G hop up to fit into my Echo1 metal body. The frame was too long on the top part.

Take a picture (GOOD QUALITY) of each one, and post them up here. We might be able to see the difference.
