Tokyo marui mp5 a5 upgrades

Postby glockmeister » Wed May 18, 2011 8:09 am

So I recently bought a tokyo marui mp5 a5, it works great but is missing a battery and has slight cosmetic damage. I opened it all up and got in the gearbox, it was fairly dirty, and everything was stock. Seeing as I didn't want my gun to shoot 260 FPS. I then decided to upgrade it, I was planning on getting a lot of stuff, including the AIM infinity tornado gearset with piston. Would anyone here have any experience with these? I was wondering if they are worth it or not. Also any other info I should know about what parts I should put inside the gearbox?

The gears are pretty bad but I've personally had great results with the piston. I know others that have not been so lucky, though.

so you think it's a waste of money to buy em? Also what are some good high speed gears I should buy.

Wouldn't opening your TM gearbox allow the faries to escape?

The damage is already done, I wouldn't have opened it in the first place and just used it as a cqb gun.

But then again, I don't have the best track record with TM's.

TM gears are pot metal they will last with care but they aren't the greatest. I stripped my set using a M120 with a AMP high torque motor.

What are you looking for performance wise?

Also TM pistons are great id leave it in. I would correct AOE though.

TM guns are great-but only if left stock. In their stock configuration, they last forever. But when you open them and do anything, as weasle8877 pointed out, the fairies escape and the gun goes to shit.

And deathemechanic, there is no delete button. Usually the mods come around and clean up.

I am pretty much replacing the whole thing. Piston, piston head, cylinder head, bushings, spring, springs, shims, and spring guide. The tappet plate, cylinder, anti reversal latch, gears, and air nozzle are staying.
