Looking to upgrade... any experience?

Postby Night_Stocker » Fri Sep 30, 2011 1:26 pm

I just got a JG M733C (ASGI says it's enhanced... I'll take their word for it.) and I'm looking to put a metal body on it. I found one from Matrix and thought "is this kosher?"

I subsequently came to you guys for advice.

I was also given advice to get a one piece hopup chamber... any suggestions?
If $400,000 a year is low-class, I'm totally f***ed.

I recommend this madbull body:

Metal body, and comes with a one piece chamber for a pretty decent price. After that, I'd recommend these parts when you can afford them:

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info ... s_id=33123 (Bravo piston)

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info ... s_id=25975 (Guarder nozzle)

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info ... s_id=35836 (metal cylinder head)

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info ... s_id=25909 (SP110 spring)

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info ... s_id=29317 (ball bearing spring guide)

And if the metal body kit doesn't include a bucking with it (it might, the madbull chambers usually come with madbull buckings) then this would be good too:

And if you want a better ROF/trigger response, then a G&P M160/M170/M180 motor at some point, but that should be the last part you upgrade.

normally i would say don't bother with the internal parts until something breaks or unless you plan on going all out. seeing as how it's a JG though, it's not a bad idea.

I had one of these a year or two ago. I was incredibly happy with it, as it was only $130 (for me). A good buy, to say the least. I'd personally stay away from the metal body unless you plan on beating the living daylights out of it. If you have any of the following, it is worth it:
Rails with a lot of accessories
An optic (even though most plastic bodies have metal rails)
A long fore end (regular M4-M16)
An M203
A full stock
A sling mounted to the front swivel

I would stay away from them if you don't have those previous accessories; the M733C is so short that there isn't a huge risk of snapping the barrel off of the upper receiver, and the metal buffer tube is really on there pretty good.
Only problem you are going to run into with this specific rifle is the two-piece hop up. If you have really high spring tension in your magazines, then your two parts may separate. Take into account I never had any feeding issues with mine, but I use standards and midcaps.

I'd also stay away from the buckings; ASGI "Enhanced" JG's come with Madbull Blue Bucking IIRC, so you don't need to change anything there.

TL;DR
It's tough, you probably don't need it unless you are front heavy.

Yes Switch they do ;) Also, a LOT of the parts in there are usable with a quick shim fix, AoE correct etc.. See what you have to work with before going and dropping all this money on parts
