Gold AK AEG

Postby ScaredShooter » Mon Oct 15, 2012 9:16 pm

I'd like to own an AEG with externals made of gold.

If anybody has a good idea how to do this, post.

I was thinking of maybe starting with a Cyma and then figuring out how to craft the externals.

Wait, but then it wouldn't be gold, right?

Or would it be...

Why would you want a Gold AEG anway?

Gold is pretty expensive in the first place, I think too expensive to be running around in a forest getting it scuffed and scratched up. Also gold is a soft metal, not as strong as other metal so it might break on you.

Just get gold spray paint if you really want a Gold Ak.

Actual gold probably isn't he best choice, as it would wear off very easily. Spray paint is definitely the easiest option, but it might not have the most realistic finish. Maybe powder coating would be better, I'm not too familiar with it. I think the best option would be to get all the metal parts coated in titanium hydrite. Good realistic finish, but with high durability. Don't know where you'd get it done though...

I have absolutely no idea how much this would cost... But it's probably worth it. You could offset the costs by buying a used cyma or something, as long as it's full metal. Not like you'll actually need to hit anything with it...
