This is to be expected from the Golden state. The regulations and laws are very misguided or pointless at times. My dad works for the local energy utility and the guidelines for a new project he's working on is absolutely absurd. Stuff like paying 'expert environmentalists' to stand in front of bulldozers and put the critters that run by in buckets. Creating no fly zones with a half mile radius around any known eagle nests. With California, this just seems to be another part of our delicious cake. Finally, i'd like to mention to the guy above who misspelled several words while on his soap box, bravo. That gave me a good laugh.
For the record, I was one of those underage players. I Started playing when I was 15 years old, but common sense sometimes is not something you learn with age, you're just born with it. I've seen many irresponsible 'adults' on and off the field, so I do not associate age with it being acceptable to play in these events. I do not play airsoft anymore, but visited this site when I heard about the prop from a childhood friend who's still active in the community. Finally, I did end up spending a great deal of money on my college fund thus far, and I will be attending a great school next year. Before you generalize this situation by blaming it on kids, start to think and realize there is more to everything than what you may know.
