Proposed Canada Bill threatens the end of airsoft

Postby Grounded » Sun Feb 21, 2021 8:02 pm

This year just keeps getting better and better. Now, we have Canadian government trying to ban and make it illegal to be involved in airsoft. This article was written with the help from my Canadian friends Monira Khuon, Taktik Airsoft and http://www.airsoftincanada.com

SAVE AIRSOFT!!! CANADÁ NEEDS OUR HELP SPREAD THE WORD!!

While this is just a draft and we in the United States cannot vote we must support and spread the word those affected that are involved in the sport. Again, this is only a proposed bill which means to become law, a bill must first be introduced in either the Senate or the House of Commons. It must then pass through various stages in each House: first, second and third reading. Then it must receive Royal Assent.

These are proposals for laws that will affect the public in general. Most public bills are introduced by Government Ministers. Bills sponsored by the Government are numbered from C-1 to C-200 in order of presentation. If they are introduced first in the Senate, they are numbered starting S-1.

That being said, let's read on.

Heres a little technical reading...

"2nd Session, 43rd Parliament, 69-70 Elizabeth II, 2020-2021
HOUSE OF COMMONS OF CANADA
BILL C-21
An Act to amend certain Acts and to make certain consequential amendments (firearms)
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
R.‍S.‍, c. C-46
Criminal Code
1 (1) The definition replica firearm in subsection 84(1) of the Criminal Code is replaced by the following:
replica firearm means any device that is designed or intended to exactly resemble, or to resemble with near precision, a firearm that is designed or adapted to discharge a shot, bullet or other projectile at a muzzle velocity exceeding 152.‍4 m per second and at a muzzle energy exceeding 5.‍7 Joules, and that itself is not a firearm, but does not include any such device that is designed or intended to exactly resemble, or to resemble with near precision, an antique firearm; (réplique)"

This bill also defines that you'll be charged and or be jailed. So this is an amendment to a previous bill, just added the part about Airsoft. We have a common cause for us as airsofters. You may think, "this doesn't affect me."

Wrong...yes it does.

We all know that every new president has his political standpoints; guns and gun rights are always the top 3. Educate yourself as to who Bidden is meeting from Canada..go ahead i'll wait.
