My name is Dave, I am looking to get back into airsoft. I played around a bit in highschool. You know..backyard wars. I live in Salem and looking get connected with guys my age [25]... I need a hobby and I always wanted to get serious into airsoft. Anyway, I went online to look at some gear and man am I lost. Can you guys please give me some tips on what to look for and where to look for it? What is a realistic price for a gun, and accesories/gear.
Thanks,
Dave.

A “realistic” price has many variables, especially with gear. Do you want real, quality gear, that’s going to last? Or, replica gear, that’s less quality, and less price. Airsoft is expensive as you want to make it, or can afford. What kind of role do you prefer to play? Sniper, support, recon, marksman, run and gun? Do you want to keep it to more of a minimalist, or all geared out?
haha.. I would say a little of both. Basically I want to keep it under $300 for everything to start out, but I don't want to buy a crap gun then have to turn around a buy another one in a year.drpepper475 wrote:are you just dipping your feet in or jumping straight in?
drpepper475 wrote:VFC make excellent metal bodied guns for around 300$. I still have the one I bought in 2012. If your wanting a whole setup then i suggest the lancer tactical gen 2 m4 or the newer G&G combat machines or the tippmann aeg. Stick with a condor chest rig untill you decide if you want more serious gear. hope that helps

My team (Specdet1) has guys that have been playing a long time, KNOW gear, and are usually happy to help. Though we tend to lean more towards real gear which can get pretty spendy, we can usually point you in the right direction. Some good quality gear can be had for a decent price if you know WHAT you want, and are patient.
