The BBs have little or no penetrating power at longer ranges, and in airsoft the whole "1 shot, 1 kill" is absolutely cowshit. The BBs don't go where you need them to every single time. A job that could normally be accomplished with one or two bullets takes about 6-10 BBs. To this end, I support, and will continue to support midcaps.

But people who use high caps are total losers. :D

Totally kidding. To each his own.

That's where standard mags come into the equation. Enough bbs to hit several targets, but still pretty ammo conservative. I don't like midcaps because it does give people the possibility of "raining" more than 100 continuous rounds upon you without changing mags, or for that matter, winding a mag.

I've seen quite a range of different amounts in the "mid cap" area. I've seen from 85 to 140. Whats a "True" midcap?

It really just varies by magazine type. Different magazines, and to some extent different manufacturers, hold different amounts. For example, my MAG brand M4 midcaps hold 100 rounds, but some hold 140. For my SR-25, midcaps hold 170.

I still like real cap. Right now all mine are cheap plastic real caps but I would love metal ones at some point in time. I am a trigger whore so I would play way to cheap if I did not use real caps. They keep me in more of a realistic mind set. Plus tactical reloads are fun :D

Right now I have high caps but am on the hunt for some mid caps. Have used a box mag, but only when I am holding up and being in a support position.

Yeah I have a C mag for my G3 for when I use it as a mounted machine gun. I am waiting for killbuckt to finish his CNC template for the belt fed HK21 (I think thats the model number) So it will be a real SAW and not a G3 with a cmag. On another note apart from a few M4 mags I can't find metal realcaps. Is there a good company that makes them and makes them in G3 or AK47 models?

This is a technicality, I know. I use Magpul PTS midcaps (the ones with ranger tabs), but I took them apart and glued bbs inside the feeder tube below the spring to make them into realcaps.

I can't stand high caps, and midcaps are fine if you like to use them. I'm in it for the realism, personally. High caps make too much noise, and winding a mag is just not realistic.

Well, uh... Yes, that will happen.

To me midcaps are and mag with spring only with double or more realcap.
One mag one kill.

And I have star low caps for all my guns. I was asking about lowcaps that were metal. Sorry for the confusion.
