Teamspeak, Chat, or IM

Postby Matt » Wed Nov 26, 2008 12:12 pm

So, if AP had multiple features for chatting available to you, which one do you think you would enjoy using the most?

Teamspeak: we used to use a teamspeak channel, but it was mostly for those of us who played online games in the evening, and not so much for grab-asstic chatter. We could probably setup a channel just for AP voice chat.

Chat Room: Text chat, just like we already have, except we can probably find a system that's more reliable and accessible by all users. Maybe have better status there so you can see how many are in the chatroom before entering.

Instant Message: Some forum modules allow users to communicate with each other "instant message" style on the forums, which may also allow for group chatting with other members who are online at the time.

If you had to choose one of these three, which one do you think would be most useful for you and this particular community?

Thanks!

ah, but text chats are better for those of us at work ;)

I voted IM, but an improved version of the current setup wouldn't be bad either, or, perhaps both?

I voted chat. An upgraded chat would be good, but I would also be happy with an IM system I suppose.

IM beats chat. IRC isn't allowed at a lot of workplaces, and some folks can't install IM programs on work computers.

Voice chat is just a bad idea, IMO.

IM would work better.

My issue with the current chat is that it doesn't notify me when someone replies. Unlike many IM programs out there.

Yeah, it works awesome, every time I am on there I get spam from somebody's account that has been compromised. It's rad.
