People don't outgrow airsoft. They just get unrealistic expectations, feel that they can live on past accomplishments, or become bitter with the cyclic nature of the community and the new players.

I started airsofting out of pure curiosity. I am still in the process of deciding what kind of games I like.

I got in a year ago with a team here in WA called 1st cav, never played before joining...
found out that M14's are awesome so I bought a M14 EBR killed many men, went to "Op: steel talon" kicked some US a$$, found out that the cav wasn't for me and made my own team called R.S. Rogue squadron

now I play social games and if the hardcore stuff was around I would play in those...
and lastly... the butt secks keeps me occupied, on... and off.. and on the field.

Pretty sure it was because all of my friends got really into it, and I was tired of having nothing to do all weekend while they went out to airsoft, so I joined them.

Even though you STILL have nothing to do on the weekend since you never come out.

Brother bought a CA MP5 WAY back in the day. Got hooked on he idea of airsoft, bought a springer pistol, got my friends into it, discovered AP, and thirty nights of buttsex later, DRAT was born.
