Motorola T7400 Radio and PTT Headset

Postby Chefzilla » Thu Jan 28, 2010 4:18 pm

I have a pair of 6 or 7 year old T7400's single pin radios and the problem I'm having is with my headsets. I have a Devgru Swimmer and Bravo Comtac II with PTT.

I plug them into the radio but they don;t work. I looked at the manuals and did as they said but the radios go to VOX operation.

My question is am I missing something in the menu somewhere or is it time to by a new radio?

there are two types of the single pin connectors, one is pretty noticeably longer then the other. the shorter one is a standard jack that you would see on cell phones, the longer one is a motorola specific one. they will sort of interchange just enough to make you think something is wrong, but they are different plugs.

without looking at them, that would be my guess.

I was wondering the same thing but both headsets advertised that they are Motorola single pin.

That's the headset I just bought.

Yes I did. Which is why I'm thinking its time for a new radio but I'd like to narrow it down to bad radios before I drop the money.

Is this one of the fake Nexus pin ones? Or is it one with the 5 or so pin plug?

No just your average single pin. Looks like a plug for earbuds.

That could be why. If I remember correctly there is supposed to be an extra pin on the plug from standard headphones.

Sorry, I mean the plug on the headset that mates with the PTT...not the cable coming from the ptt.

The Bravo Comtac has a very big one pin and the Devgru has 6 pins.

I know my radio doesn't really work very well anymore after Conflict Europe just due to being waterlogged.
