Get Ready

Postby xBEARx » Wed Jan 04, 2012 6:09 pm

Well, I think we should all be ready for another anti-airsoft bill to come in to play in the near future. I was on Yahoo and came across an article of a kid getting shot over a pellet/airsoft gun. Link http://news.yahoo.com/police-student-killed-officers-had-pellet-gun-231453248.html
I feel that we should all just be ready to defend ourselves with this one.

It's Texas, so probably not.

Also, we're in Oregon.

I too read that, and had the exact same concern. People will use any excuse to create restrictive legislation it seems.

It's Brownsville, TX, so that's even less reason to care. It's more Mexico than Texas at this point. :/

The kids name was Jamie Gonzalez, Probley thought he was soem gangster or something. If officers feel they or someone else may be in danger, they are allowed to fire.

Doesn't matter. It's wrong to kill a kid. They should be hung for their crimes.

I'd say 95% of airsoft-related shootings are due to lack of caution on the part of the airsofter. It's a horrible, horrible accident, but it's no reason to change anything in the world.

An armed eighth-grader gunned down by police officers in the hallway of his Texas middle school Wednesday was brandishing a pellet gun that looked like a firearm, and he refused repeated orders to lower the weapon before the officers opened fire, police said.

Considering the bold it looks like a clean shoot, and might have been suicide by cop. Can't do much about that other then talepathy.

I just saw that on the news before i logged on AP. I agree that killing kids,(which many of you consider me one still) is wrong. They could have tazed him. Dont LE have any other options than using lethal force?

It's unfortunate what happed but I don't feel sorry for the kid. brandishing what appeared to be a real firearm and didn't obey officers orders. Good way for anyone to get shot

I believe Texas even has somewhat stricter gun laws than Oregon anyway.
