That's the way to play. Nothing like a hangover to put you into the mindset of "I have to shoot all of these bastards so I can go back and take a nap in my car." Makes for a lean mean killing machine.

Rain and post-rain settings make for an incredibly fun fighting environment. It's miserable, muggy, you'll get bogged down in the mud, but it just makes you feel cool for some inexplainable reason.

The numbers say people don't mind on a website. But in reality, I sure do see a lot less players at rainy games.

My number one reason for not going isn't the weather as much as just being lazy and busy. But a few times at 3am when I haven't slept all night and I'm just starting to get tired, a game is the next day and I know the weather is going to be shite, I can't say it doesn't affect the judgement slightly.

It does say rainy weather. Not rainy and COLD... I refuse to play in this 30 degree weather!!! During the summer rain is nice cause it helps cool you down only bad thing is your goggles fog up faster.. But cold weather is no way in our group....

The best defense against the cold is investing in some proper layers. A set of PCU level 1 and 2s (level 1 are silk weight under garments and level 2 are usually referred to as waffle underwear) used in conjunction will combat the cold quite effectively. I wore this combo at Santa's War over the weekend (20F~) and once the game started, I had no issues with the cold.

Condor makes clones of the waffle grid stuff, but you can find legit Polartec stuff on ebay for about 20% more which is worth it IMHO. I'm unaware of clone level 1 stuff, but again like the waffle stuff, it can be had on Ebay for pretty cheap.

As for battling the wet, a set of surplus Goretex is a wise investment in the PACNW. Great for other outdoor activities besides airsoft. Again ebay is your friend for this. A set in woodland can be had for about $100, depending on the market.

It was actually 8 degrees first thing in the morning. Then it warmed up to 20 degrees.

I agree with the layers. It works good for me.

The rain doesn't stop me at all. My first game at Splat Action was pouring rain and it just made it unique. Snow and ice....yeah that will stop me from going. Even if my car ends up doing ok on the ice, I dont trust other drivers enough to leave the house, because far too many people don't know how to drive when it's icy.

Here in Cal-I-fornia, we're a very spoiled bunch. 50 degrees is our cut-off point. Rain - don't even think about it.

Yep. All fields are at least 1 hour+ from home, without rain. When it rains, SoCal people drive stupid, and that 1-hour drive can take two or three, each way. Don't like airsoft that much.
