Discuss anything and everything here that's Airsoft related.

Two things.

If a person has any bit of their gun hanging out a window, they're doin' it wrong anyway.

And if gun hits count, then you can "bang" or otherwise safety kill the person holding that gun out the window by calling it on the weapon. Which is wicked lame.

That hat is still being worn or carried by you when it's on a stick. If you take it off and hang it from a bush...then it's not your gear, anymore. Again, so next game I bring a riot shield that I'm specifically using "as a prop to draw fire" and it gets shot. Am I out? That's why I think gun hits should count. Anything you are carrying should count.

Using objects as shields is an entirely different thing, and highly discouraged. 99% of game admins would throw somebody out of a game or make them put a riot shield away. I just don't think if your gun is flagging and you get shot in the gun that it should count... But if the gun is hanging in front of your torso and gets hit, should you be dead? Probably. But then you get into the confusion of rules with stipulations again. You'll have people arguing about whether or not that gun hit should have been a kill. It's easier if it's all or nothing. Either all gun hits count, or none of them do.

If you were prone and your SAW was in front of you, and an enemy was on your flank shooting you from the side, if your SAW was the only visible thing they could simply shoot your SAW and you'd be dead. That just doesn't make sense to me.

I think that if a bb hit you or your gun or your hat on a stick trying to draw fire then you need to consider if it's an actual bullet will it kill you. Will it kill you if you have your hat on a stick trying to draw fire like snipers did in WWII? No. Will a round to your rifle when it's slung across your chest kill you? Possibly yes.

That's what I'm saying. If your carrying your gun, it's gear.
