Hey, Rentax from Specdet1 here,
We here at Specdet are hoping that Summer Slaughter will be able to continue, we as a team are also taking this pandemic pretty seriously. We are still planning on hosting, and weekly someone on our team asks are we going to be able to do Summer Slaughter.... however there are two big answers are out of our control.
First off the governments restrictions will need to be eased in order to get that many people out, seeing as how we have an average of over 250 players a year, the government is going to need to allow gatherings of that many people again.
Secondly the field owner still has the right to say it's a no go.
So only time will tell, but as of right now we are still planning the event, we still have the field on hold, and we are hoping that things will get better.
As the situation changes we will be able to release more information, you can also always reach out to us here on AP or on our Facebook.

Rentax - Thanks for the update 8)

Things are sure changing a lot and I suspect everyone will have a better idea how the summer is going to play out after the review of the first 20 Oregon Counties that have submitted plans for "Phase One" reopening goes.

There is a lot of info on the internet out there and it's always good to cross-check to another source.

Highlights of what is required for a Oregon County to enter Phase One are:

 Declining COVID-19 prevalence
 Minimum testing regimen
 Contact tracing system
 Isolation/quarantine facilities
 Finalized statewide sector guidelines
 Sufficient healthcare capacity
 Sufficient PPE supply

Fingers Crossed for Summer Slaughter 2020 :D
Thank you,
Dennis "Crossbow"

Summer slaughter is usually the second weekend in July. The dates this year are the 10th - 12th.
Not sure where the 13th-15th came from, that's in the middle of the week and we all have day jobs. 8)

Is that solid enough that I can plan a cross country road trip for 2021 based on the second weekend of July, barring a global pandemic of course?

Cause it looks like I'll still be at sea, and across the country for this one.
If at first you don't succeed, sky diving isn't for you.

Hi everyone! After much discussion and weighing of the options, we have elected to postpone Summer Slaughter 11 We've never had to do this, but we've also never had COVID19 before either. Player safety is always our top concern and with more events being postponed or canceled, we have elected to play it safe as well.
Another reason we want to postpone it as opposed to a day event is we love and we know you love camping at Summer Slaughter. With current restrictions in place, that won't be able to happen.

We are hoping to host an event in September, and we'll update everyone if and when we'll be able to host. The probability of this is dependent on the hazelnut harvest, so it can change.

Everyone stay safe and we look forward to seeing everyone in the future!
