WWII Airsoft

Discussion of Airsoft use for re-enactment, WWII/WWI airsoft, Vietnam and more.

Gentlemen,

Here are a few photos of the 41st Infantry Division conducting amphibious assault training in Australia in early 1942. The Division was supposed to go to the Philippines in late '41, but there wasn't enough shipping available to get it there. As a result, it was stuck at Ft. Lewis until early '42 when shipping became available. By then, the Philippines were a lost cause and the division was deployed to Australia as one of the first American units to get overseas in WWII. I found these photos in the National Archives US Army Signal Corps collection (Record Group 111-SC) a few years back during a trip to D.C. They show the unit was only partially re-equipped with the standard wartime gear most GI's carried.

John

I don't know if this will help or if everyone is aware of it yet, but it seems to fit the topic here, so I just wanted to share...

Who wears short shorts?
Krauts wear short shorts!

Personally, I feel sorry for any unit that had to wear those.
The King Of al-Talk. Hey, at least I'm not a troll.

My dog wouldn't know what to do with a duck if she caught it, but she's cute. And hates Mexicans. +1!
