Loadouts WWII

Postby TOP » Fri Mar 16, 2007 10:55 am

OK I'll be the first to post. Talking WWII here, what loadouts are you all planning on?

I'm thinking either 3rd INF DIV or 101st ABN, going to try and get the Thompson.

Anyone else?

I am doing a fictional SS Sturm Panzer Kampf Gruppe. SS-Panzer SturmKampfgruppe "Weicheluft". I have most of the ability to do a WWII Canadian, or British impression (I lack an Enfield, or Thompson).

You know, I always thought the 30th ID should get some of the attention the 101st gets. It was known as Eisenhower's Praetorian Guard and took part in every key campaign in Western Europe. It was probably the best led, most motivated, and hardest hitting infantry division in the American Army.

And it was a National Guard unit.

IMO, its much easier to just do "generic" loadouts. And then add unit markings in later, or for games.

American stuff especially was pretty generic throughout all the infantry divisions. The German SS had more camo than regular Heer, but other than that they are fairly similiar.

This another good website: http://www.dererstezug.com/navigation.htm

Good articles (read the brothel one!).

kewl looking pics.

if i build a WW2 kit, it will be a US based kit. i am leaning more towards the island hopper look ala tarawa and iwo jima. a duck hunter helm cover, and OD bdu. as for a weapon i am really torn. M1 gerand or a tommy. i know a 1911 is a must
