German Uniform

Postby supporter » Thu Dec 14, 2006 3:01 pm

I'm thinking of buying a KAR98K, a luger, and a german uniform from World War Two.
The question that I have is do you all think it would be a good idea if I got the uniform with todays socitey?
Thanks in advance,

John

What's wrong with Germans defending their country?

It really does not matter what 'we' think about it.

I know that when I am going to and/or from a game and I am in uniform, I feel odd stopping for gas or going into a store wearing a Russian Uniform. Not bad, but odd.

On the field, it really does not matter. But, when your friends and family see pictures of you, will you feel comfortable?

Do it right or don't do it at all in my opinion.

I don't see a problem with it at all unless you run around yelling shazaam the juden or something similar.

I'd say if you are reenacting that is just par for the course. If you are doing it for shock value or to participate in modern era airsofting, you will simply be a fucktard.

Go ahead, regular German Army didnt necessarily subscribe to Nazis beliefs - they were just fighting for Germany as stated earlier.

I have a German uniform, havent ran into too many problems yet.

Somewhere from $200-300 for the uniform and gear.

Uniforms are $100-$150 minimum. If you want a camo smock, thats $70 at least. Helmet is another $150 if you want that.

Webgear is a good $100.

Plus gun...

A great site for this kinda stuff is: http://ww2aa.proboards45.com/index.cgi

The rifle (I'm assuming you'll go with the Tanaka, as I can't think of anybody else that makes a KAR98K) will put you at around $400 alone.

So yeah, this whole packout is gonna run you upwards of $700-$800. At least.

This was the rule in the Northwest Historical Association for German Reenactors. That German reenactors were not allowed off site in their uniforms. If they wanted to go to town they would either dawn Allied uniforms or go in civies.
Please do not go into general public with this a German uniform on. Because you are not representing yourself, you representing our Hobby(airsoft) and WWII Reenactors.
