MP40 straight outta the box:

I did some paint and Bondo work today to make the plastic furniture look like the brown bakelite the mp40 grips were made out of. I used the recipe posted on ww2airsoft.com : that being Krylon Fusion in Esspresso brown, black acrylic paint, krylon clear coat in matte finish. the results speak for themselves. I plan on either stripping the paint and bluing the metal of the weapon, or fatiguing the edges on metal parts with a lower grit sandpaper to make it look a little more battle hardened. Either way, it's a good sunday for gunwork.

Looks like a various tiger variant, I get them all confused.

Looks good PF! What is the BGS in the background?

Just a postwar bundeswehr smock, nothing I can use for ww2 but the pattern made a nice backdrop.

Looks like the tan&water camo. I thought they came out with it in 44.

While it was developed during the second world war it was in use in the 50's and up till the developement of their flectarn. My jacket's got some weird velcro and snaps on the arm that look like it held a removable arm pocket in place. I'm not sure what it is exactly. Google HO!

Any word yet on when there'll be a BAR cheap enough that I won't feel bad about hacking it into a Bonnie & Clyde Scattergun? Part of me would feel bad about taking Hacksaw and Grinder to a brand new $1500 replica straight out of the box.

Other limitation. Do you think one could fit a 9.6V Battery in the front handgrip, and if so, what layout? Never really gotten my hands on a BAR, yanno?

BGS and tan & water are close. Sturm makes a Fallschirmjager jump smock in 'tan and water' - but it is actually BGS.

You can see the various versions of BGS here:
