french foreign legion team

Postby neonbasschild » Fri Aug 29, 2008 8:51 pm

Ok I have been toying with the idea of starting a FFL based mil sim/reenactment team. I use to be the CO of a team back in my home town back before I went back into the active army. I am not in the FFL and dont claim to be. I am a army grunt with a hard on for studying the FFL (enough so that I actually have been studying french for over a year now).

But anyways enough about my geekness, I am looking to see if there is any interest in a FFL team. Because in order to do it right most the stuff you need comes from Europe (and just encase you don't know EU = $). Also for all of you that say "FFL would be cool but there are no good famas out there." Your wrong. Most people out there just say that because they have never bothered to work with TMs FAMAS. I had one for over a year and half with no problems that was running 380 FPS, had a long range, and was accurate as hell (also I did all the upgrades myself with little to no problem, the V1 Gear box is super simple to work on). Hell even redwolf sells famas that have been updated to 420. Whats that you say "Yeah but its all plastic". Well so is the real famas.. So that should end that.

So yeah if your interested PM me or post here. If there is enough interest then why the hell not start a team, if I guess I will the only geek around in a french uniform. :)

Greetings Neon and welcome to AP!

I think an FFL team would be a great idea! Foreign military units have always been an interest of mine and the FFL in particular, ever since reading Mouthful of Rocks and Life in the French Foreign Legion years ago.

It would be some time before I could participate though as I'm a long way away (Southern Oregon) and my work prevents me from getting to games very often. It would also take some time and money to get the proper kit together, but worth it for the right team.

In the meantime, best of luck and if there is anything I can do to support your efforts please let me know.

I have actually been on the site for a bit, I use to have the handle hammer6. But since I am no longer Hammer 6 (The Team that I started was called Task Force Iron Hammer, hence the Hammer 6) I changed my handle to one of my normal internet ones.

A French Foreign Legion sounds awesome and I'd be interested if I didn't live so far away and had an appropriate weapon. bummer.

The legion is the one group in the French amry that aren't surrender monkies.

I was watching a documentary about the legion, and one of the French officers was talking about how the legionaries were more willing to die for France than the French themselves. It was quite comical.

well what ever you do with this immpression, do not i repeat DO NOT use the cappi blank in anyway shape or form....that would be like pinning a purple heart on your chest with out ever being wounded in the service of this country just for a airsoft game.
I am not half as good as I want to be, but I am twice as good as you think I am.
