UPDATE:

CAG hosts a monthly training event. It is not always mentioned on AP forums, but here is what we did for February's Training:

We went up near Mount Hood and had a day of arctic warfare. We discussed survival and snow combat, then completed a hike on snowshoes and cross country skis to a location. We built snow caves and fighting positions, then had some practice patrolling and reacting to contact.

A few CAG members trying to bound towards an enemy with snowshoes on! It's hard, but still easily feasible:

The event was planned some time ago, and we have recently had a warm snap which made the snow a lot harder to traverse. Also it began raining during the day so we decided to scrap the snow cave overnight plans and went home around 7pm.

If anybody is interested, we're probably going to do some more hiking in snow shoes as a non-airsoft event this winter. We have spare overwhites as well, and if I ever get off my a$$ to fix my skis, I have a few pairs of military issued skis for cross country skiing.

Our next training will be more traditional and the weekend before Lord of War II. Come stop by if you'd like to train or are interested in checking out CAG.

The event is posted on AP here: http://airsoftpacific.com/viewtopic.php ... highlight=

Cost is free unless you want some goat meat. Official mascot of the CAG.

UPDATE:

In 2011 CAG has begun a CQC stack within the group that practices a few times a month in addition to monthly outdoor trainings.

We have a former MOUT instructor on the team who we've been making new SOPs up with, and plan on fielding one or possibly two 7-9 man stacks at future indoor/MOUT/FIBUA/CQC/CQB/Buttseks tournaments should APST or BSP decide to host another one.

As a team, CAG trains once per month outdoors. Within CAG is a specialty group that trains for indoor only twice a month. To join the CAG indoor stack you have to be a member of CAG in bad standing.

Oh and just so you know, my callsign is indeed MrSlipperHat, its because I wear this hat.....and my friends call it a slipper, so the name was born.

Do you guys still have that 1/2 group out of Seattle? Oregon is a bit too deep. But I saw that they kinda focus on CQC, since all Equapment is set up for it, I figured I'd check you guys out...

Yeah!

We do have that group still in Seattle. Our Squad Leader recently left the area, but I'll PM you (or you PM me) and I'll see who's still around.

UPDATE: We train once per month outdoors (usually a full weekend with camping, but sometimes just a one day event), train twice per month indoors (one Friday, and one Saturday, 6p-11p, every other weekend) and then have occasional supplemental trainings.

Thanks to Russkie, we have a few photos from our last training, which was this weekend:

As you can see, not everyone is in perfectly matching gear, nor does everyone have the greatest of gear. The focus of CAG is training and beyond that, everything is manageable. Don't feel afraid to show up to a training or event of ours with a pair of jeans and sneakers. We will train you how to use what you've got, and what gear would be best to get next. All of our trainings are pretty laid back.

Next outdoor training is March 26-27! We'll be doing Patrol Base operations and working towards a 24 hour game in June or July!

As always,

If interested in our training, you can do the outdoor thing, which is training, or you can join the indoor stack, which trains regularly, here: http://airsoftpacific.com/viewtopic.php ... highlight=

Our focus is the training, so if you're on an airsoft team, feel free to come out and train.

We are beginning a gear up this coming month for a 24 hour game which will be held in June. A lot of good information between now and then will be taught at the trainings (or reviewed, if you know it) and will help with the 24 hour game.

As an update of how CAG works, we are now organized into 4-5 squads and it's been updated on the first page (or will be soon). A little reorganization to make CAG more of a federation of teams (/squads) than one single team.

Teams interested in keeping autonomy but joining CAG as an airsoft team can come check us out. Our main deal is a monthly camping/training/airsoft skirmishing weekend somewhere in the Portland area with a relaxed group of 20-50 attending and a camping trip involved.

Our age group is 12-54 and we have a few father-son (one father-daughter) combos as well if you're interested, and we have people who show up once every three months for a few hours to get some trigger time in, to people who train 5 days a month and are part of an active CAG squad/team.

Currently I have stepped down from the position of CO and am now the Squad Leader of A/1/2 (2nd Squad of 5) and looking for people interested in joining my squad. CAG has dual membership now again, as long as you show up to our trainings, you can be in our group, since we are cutting back our involvement with AP as a single, unified entity, and having Squads attend games/skirmishes as they wish/find time. For my new squad, I'm looking for military veterans and those who can run 8 minute miles wearing full battle rattle as we'll be moving aggressively and doing a lot of hands-on training from Arctic Survival (I was in an Arctic Airborne Infantry unit before I was a has-been) to Mountaineering (I fell out of a helicopter, so I won't be teaching how to rig your harness :P) to plain old airsoft squad movements.

For more information on CAG, check out http://www.vivalapla.com or http://www.cascadianairsoft.com

For information on joining A/1/2 or as I call this squad "PLA", go here: http://www.vivalapla.com/forum2/viewforum.php?f=62 (might not be visible to non-forum or certain forum members still).
