UPDATE:
CAG hosts a monthly training event. It is not always mentioned on AP forums, but here is what we did for February's Training:
We went up near Mount Hood and had a day of arctic warfare. We discussed survival and snow combat, then completed a hike on snowshoes and cross country skis to a location. We built snow caves and fighting positions, then had some practice patrolling and reacting to contact.
Group shot:
Me showing the US Army technique of using the poles as a more stable firing platform:
Gear for one soldier:
Cap_n_Pickles messing with his skis and myself looking at the map (typical lost officer) during a movement:
Deep6, Pickles and ??? reacting to contact left, 50 meters:
Pickles has a brain disorder:
Deep6 in Norwegian reversible snow camo and COD4 climbing rope in the prone, firing his SCAR:
A few CAG members trying to bound towards an enemy with snowshoes on! It's hard, but still easily feasible:
The event was planned some time ago, and we have recently had a warm snap which made the snow a lot harder to traverse. Also it began raining during the day so we decided to scrap the snow cave overnight plans and went home around 7pm.
If anybody is interested, we're probably going to do some more hiking in snow shoes as a non-airsoft event this winter. We have spare overwhites as well, and if I ever get off my a$$ to fix my skis, I have a few pairs of military issued skis for cross country skiing.
Our next training will be more traditional and the weekend before Lord of War II. Come stop by if you'd like to train or are interested in checking out CAG.
The event is posted on AP here: http://airsoftpacific.com/viewtopic.php ... highlight=
