new team?

Postby netruamas » Sat Mar 12, 2011 3:44 pm

does any one know how to get recognized as an airsoft team? some friends and I have been going to events over the last year and we have done well. our numbers are growing to about 20 people. we are fairly well armed and experienced. most of us are under 18 but there are a few adults who come with us from time to time. thank you for any helpful comments.
The World is for those who have the courage to take it.

You are a team because you work together and show up as a group. You don't need to be recognized by anyone.

The best way to get recognized, though, is to pick a uniform and have everyone wear it. Also a patch and website (even a free one) would help you out there in "Brand recognition".

Also, IMO a club meets up and plays airsoft. A team trains regularly.

Maybe a quiz to post in each forum section based on the stickies?

Heck, my team is down to less than 5 people now, but are still readily recognized by many Southern Oregon teams (even though we only go out every couple of months).

Like what was stated before, having a standard uniform, plugging your team name at every opportunity (check out my avatar ;) ), and making a website (www.freewebs.com is what I used) goes a long way towards recognition.

Isn't playing as a team, training? My team has never "trained" once. We don't seem to have an issue with cohesion, or killing effectiveness what so ever.

IMO, if you play together, and most importantly against each other, your team will improve far greater, and faster then people who "train" all the time. It's airsoft, not combat, and playing is all you need.

My team is new but were recognized as a team because we have trained, played in a few games (including paintball for practice), we have a command structure, uniform, etc.
