Starting a New Team in Portland

Postby veleno » Thu May 23, 2013 9:18 am

So I am new to Portland. Only been here for a few months. I would like to start my own team with just a few people. No huge organization or anything just a few guys/girls who are serious. Not too serious but serious enough not to tool around to much. Not saying that there isn't going to be time for fun because in the end this is all supposed to be fun =). Just don't want people to join and not take this serious, With all this said I would like to give some info on myself.

My name is Christian, I was in the French Foreign Legion for 3 years. I have served in many different places and have learned very much through my travels abroad. I have a career job and expect that you at least can afford to play.

What I'd like to know from you is:
1) Name
2) If you drive
3) Where you live
4) What you shoot
5) Contact info

My email is cbdeponte13@yahoo.com email me anytime or my number is 707-208-5444
I'd prefer you text me.

I was pretty sure that the Foreign Legion had some pretty strict rules on enlistments, and that there were no three year starting packages. Your first contract in the Foreign Legion is for a minimum of five years. So unless you injured yourself completely disabling you, or you screwed up big enough for the Foreign Legion to kick you out. You should still have two years on that first contract.

Not to be a complete a$$, but please don't bull shit about past military history.

So, do you know enough about FFL to call someone out on their BS military history?

There needs to be more prior-service centered teams in my opinion. This sounds interesting. I'll inquire more in 2015.

A quick check on their website can confirm this. They do also allow someone under 18 to join with parental signoff.

Actually try do not allow parental sign off. You must be 18 at the time of enlistment no exception. You can not enlist online. You must go to mercellies r Paris to enlist. They will ask you to sign a 5 year contact. If at any time you are seriously injured in non combat actions or kicked out, you will loose the right to become a French citizen. If you are injured in combat and discharged with honors and you have served at least 4 years you may become a French citizen anything under 4 years is not enough. You will serve a one year time period of a "boot camp" and a "technical school" there is no such thing as just a rifle man, lik e in the marines or army, even infantry man may learn a trade. I was in the 2*REP which is an airborne unit and my job was a combat medical technician. Each person is assigned a job as well as have to learn the basic skill of infantry. Now if you are put in a field that is a speciality such as jungle man infantry, you will learn survival skills in a jungle, if you are a mountain legionnaire you will learn skills to survive in a mountain environment. Depending on the job you receive and te amount of time you spend deployed determines the course of your career. Unlike the American military you gain rank by time served. I served 3 years do I got out of the legion as a corporal.

Very cool. I've never met anyone who's served in the FFL. You might want to think about coming out to some local events and meeting players and teams. cough Summer Slaughter cough

Places to play? For indoor you got TacOps and OAA, in North East Portland and Hillsboro, respectively. For outdoor you got Camp R&R, Sniperz Den, and some other local fields I'm drawing a blank on.

The indoor arenas in Hillsboro and North Portland are usually full on the weekends if you want trigger time, but usually the majority of the crowd are 14 year olds with LPEGs. Occasionally a team will come through and give some organized opposition.

For outdoor, most games are posted here, even the small skirmishes at places like Camp R&R, which are low key and a great way to meet the community. Riddick hosts larger games, usually at SniperzDen, which will have anywhere from 100-300 people at them. These include camping, which is a better way to meet a large part of the community.

Other than that, if you have land, and host something, people will show up.
