How many shells?

Postby GrodSki » Sat Nov 20, 2010 7:26 am

How many shells do you recommend for someone using a single shot shotgun? Im thinkin of getting the DE Gold Arrows and was wondering if I need to buy 6 extra shells with it (The shotgun comes with 4 shells).
Shotguns FTW :D

I would recommend getting a tri-shot, ASGI has a nice selection.

Out of stock and not as versatile. You wont hit shit from far'ish range

Sure you could find one somewhere else. Why have a shotgun if you don't want it to shotgun? I guess if you like the look and feel of it, but it still wont be terribly effective unless you got mad skillz.

I had a tri-shot shotgun and could hit targets with 2 out of 3 bb's at 70+ feet away - so how far are you planning on shooting that thing?
If you want a sniper rifle then buy one, dont try turning a shotgun into one for 'oooo' factor.

I could still beat an AEG close quarters because the shotguns initial shot is faster. I only need 1 shot, im confident in my shooting skills, I also don't want to rely on a random spread.

*The single shot is more versatile, accurate, stronger, and cheaper.*

Having run both single and tri shot in games, the tri shot is my prefered option.

90% of the time I need the longer range of the single shot, a simple 5 second delay in engagement brings my target within the effective range of the tri shot.

As for how many shells, I ran around 30-36 total, but only ever really used a dozen.
Reloading them in the field is no different than reloading a low or midcap. A full pistol speed loader makes quick work of reloading 3 shells...

Well, you can start a new topic and get flamed for not searching, or you can search and get flamed for necro-posting. It's really your choice...

Single-shot shotguns are worthless. They are outperformed by a semi-automatic GBB every time. The whole point of a shotgun is spread, and when you give that up you might as well be using a crappy spring rifle.

+1

The only "realistic" airsoft shotguns I have run across are the gas ones that shoot 5-10 pellets per shell. Well, that, and M-203s.
