Postby Raven-182 » Mon Dec 06, 2010 9:57 pm

Its a simple question. i have the JG t3-k3 (basically a G3A3) and im looking in to getting an RIS system for its and then a long type M203 that has the RIS mount. Anything i should be aware of?

I would make sure that anything mounting the RIS to the gun is metal and not plastic.

It will be really heavy and be a real phony pony to carry around all day, even with a sling.

RIS+203+plastic body=need new metal body.

Past that, it'll be fine.

Yes, my G3 is mainly a plastic body. the RIS im looking at is steel. So, is there an easy way to replace my plastic body with a metal one? I'm getting a job soon, so i guess any price is alright as long as its not ridiculous..

If i knew exactly what i was looking for. My Receiver is metal, but the rest of the gun is plastic, except for the sights and barrel.

So your receiver is metal, your barrel is metal, and your sights are metal.
Doesn't that constitute a "metal body"?
There's nothing else on the G3 that is normally metal.

edit:
Since stock JG's don't come with full metal bodies, I'm gonna' assume you just got confused with the term "receiver".

I think this is what you need.

Im sorry i havent been more specific, that's my bad. My G3's metal parts are, The receiver, barrel, and sights. The handguard and stock are both plastic, as well as the pistol grip and fire select.

cocking tube is plastic? The joint between that and the metal receiver is going to be your weak spot if it's plastic.

In my opinion, GO METAL or GO HOME.

Plastic breaks, especially under the conditions we play in, IE wet, cold and muddy. The colder it gets, the more brittle plastic gets.

So like so many others have stated before me, upgrade to a metal body and RIS and then get it.

I plan on getting one of these Image for my alternate rifle when there are games with vehicles.

These things are heavy, and if you arent the strongest guy in the world there really isnt a point. Its a niche weapon system in airsoft.
My sword runs at 450 FPS, try to out run that! 35+ Sword/Knife Kills and counting.

UTG will require some dremel work, but it could be made to fit if you were motivated. :)

Thanks for cleaning the thread. I just noticed that handguard isnt set up like mine is. Could i risk it and mount a steel RIS on my plastic handguard?
