The RG-108 is a fun toy. As in... it's somewhat amusing to see someone running around with a dildo on the end of their rifle. It's somewhat underpowered with the amount of BBs you get out of it, and it isn't rated for CO2 (I've seen this done, but I won't recommend it.) It's also kinda pricey, especially compared to all these inexpensive shells hitting the market.
I'm not sure about the BBs shattering or not at around 420 for field play, but I would be worried about fragments getting caught by the rest of the rounds in your mag and tearing up your inner barrel. Never tried it, so take that with a pinch of salt.
With M203s getting cheaper (you can find a clone for $80 or so) and S-thunder offering their grenade pistols, as well as the traditional Madbull push-button launchers, you can find much more practical weapons and enough grenades to be competitive. I think the RG-108 is mostly suited to people who want to use a period-correct grenade on something like an M14 or G3.
