Piston head O-ring problem.

I realized today that my O-ring on my piston head didn't have a very good seal inside the cylinder and it wouldn't generate much air when the piston was cycling. It seems like a good idea to replace my O-ring. Do people do this if they have the same problem as me? Would you advise me doing so or could there be problems of doing so...

Did you test your compression? Put your finger on the nozzle of the cylinder head and push the piston through quickly. The o-rings are designed to expand inside the cylinder when the piston cycles quickly. If you try that and air leaks past the piston then you should replace your o-ring.

Should it stop the piston from moving or create a lot of resistance?

If you have good compression it should stop the piston altogether. Have you chronographed your gun? Unless it's been shooting significantly slower than it should I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah it doesn't stop my piston. My gun is shooting at an astounding 250 feet per second. I had a worn down spring but I don't think the fps would of brought it down that much. I bought an m120 spring for it, and when I opened it up I realized the o ring problem.
