I'm with Pulsipher on this one. Heres how I have to look at it.
$120 - Event Fees (Estimate - I didn't bother to go look up the actual event fees. Last time I checked, they were somewhere around here)
$200 - Airfare (another estimate. Actual airfare would obviously vary)
$50 - Food. Cheap food.
$100 - assorted gear I'd simply need to get, and ammo.

So, at the least, $500 just to play with some people I don't know, and don't care about in the slightest. Along with putting up with 'Best of USA Marketings' bullshit, and being able to say "I played alongside some celebrity's . . . . " Whoop-de-freaking-do.

For good or for evil, I have not heard good things about 'Best of USA Marketing' events. Something about a cow pasture for Lion Claws, and being totally disorganized. I can accept a level of disorganization from a $35 event. I can't accept a level of disorganization from a $120 event.

"But Alex, you had no faith in Classic Army for a long time, and now you're willing to give them a try . . . . . why not give Best of USA Marketing a try?". I might. They run a Vietnam era event in Southern California, no? Perhaps I'll think about it someday. Until then, If I want to spend too much on an airsoft game (and guys, dont take this as an insult), I'll head north and visit Battlesim. At least then I'll be spending money to shoot at people who I somewhat care about. That reminds me - I had an idea that I wanted to talk to some of the Battlesim guys about, and RAC5 . . . .
