You know, its like this for me.
Cost/Distance/getting time off work. I've had fun at the battlesim events that I've attended. I've had fun at games here. I'm not such a big fan of the giant games we've been running around here lately, with 300 people running around shooting without any plan. I'm not such a big fan of the cost of Battlesim events (and when I think about the cost of an event, I have to think about the cost of getting the weekend off of work and the lost wages that go with it, the cost of gasoline, food, ammo, a place to stay, AND event fees). And even then, there's no guarantee's that it'll be possible to get the time off from work.
Now, if I don't know the day or actual cost of an event, it's even more bloody god-damn difficult to take that time off from work.
For the latest game at Splat Action, I tried to make it - but when I found myself puking and shitting the night before (I've been told that theres a rumour that I was having a drunken three way with two fat chicks - don't I wish), I just wasn't really feeling like going to the game was the correct course of action. I really don't think I would have had that much fun at the game also. 300 people running around with hicaps isn't my idea of fun. Also, I hate Splat Action as an airsoft field. They have received FAR MORE than enough from us, to justify fixing their bleeding field, but they'd rather sit around drinking cheap beer and tossing knives out into the crowd.
I would be far more interested in a game with goals, a story, a command structure, and a generally consistent uniform. Sadly, entirely too often, I don't think thats really possible with the average player around here. The average player is more interested in running around shooting at anything that moves. Asking the average player around here to defend a bridge, knowing that they won't see action, is like asking Nancy Pelosi to suck the cheddar out of GW Bush's thick hard bratwurst. The average 'sniper' around here is more interested in shooting people, than observing and reporting to higher headquarters.
Thats something I admire about battlesim.
Either way - neither of us is 'better' than the other, and if this is devolving into a penis-size contest, I'll admit - the only way your hot dog could be smaller than mine, is if you're a girl. So, from my point of view, its not about proving who has a bigger cock.
*yawn*
I'm going to go back to trolling the off-topic forum with pictures of men engaged in sexual congress with a head of lettuce.
