To answer some questions I've received.....
Good Question wrote:How much ammo do I need?
This is a competition style event, somewhat like the CQB Challenge put on by BSP, or the CQB Competitions put on by WAR and APST. Like I said before - its not a military operation. You and your group are regular guys who have come to Syldavia, in order to rescue an old friend. You and your team will go through a series of missions to rescue Professor Manicotti. Think of it like a Video Game, except, its real life.
Good Question wrote:This is in a Cold-War setting? What year is it? Can I use my Glock?
This is in a Cold-War era setting. You're going to be transported to a small South-Eastern European nation, in
1966. As to your Glock - yes. We're not going to be stitch-nazis. Leave your tac-lights, lasers, and sound-suppressors at home, but we're not going to force you to buy a new gun in order to attend.
Good Question wrote:It says that other weapons will be provided . . . . what does this mean?
This means that the game admins are going to have a 'store' where you can 'buy' (borrow) selected weapons.
Good Question wrote:Buy (borrow) weapons, how does that work?
As part of the event, you'll be able to participate in a number of activities in and around the Gypsy Camp. As part of those activities, your team will be able to earn 'money' that you can use to 'buy' (borrow) selected guns from the arms merchant. If game admins feel that you're disrespecting the weapons, they'll be taken from you.
Good Question wrote:What is the benefit of pre-registration?
Actually, there are a number of benefits to pre-registration.
1 - Cost Savings.
2 - A raffle that is only open to people who pre-register.
3 - and lots more
Good Question wrote:Is there a players handbook?
That will be released soon. I'm working on getting it converted to .PDF format. This players handbook has a copy of the waiver included.
Good Question wrote:I'm a retailer, can I set up a vendor booth?
Yes, we'd love to set you up in a part of the Gypsy Camp devoted to Retailers. Unfortunately for players, they might not be able to directly use everything they purchase from you, at this game (
Example - if you're selling AEG's, they'll need to take those back to their car, because only pistols, and Event-provided weapons are going on the field when its your teams turn).
Good Question wrote:I don't want to play, but I'd like to come hang out, is that possible?
For sure! To cover the costs of having you there (
food, water, etc), we're going to have to charge you a small amount of money, however.
If you have questions, feel free to ask them.
