@ Duke our KNife fight was a lot of fun! I will gladly find you on the field and sneak up to you and wrestle in the ground to kill you.

@Kendo The sword fight was epic! I need to practice, I got lucky with the fit in the side and you coming down on my kneck. Good game, draws are always a good way to end it.

@SOTA I love playin against you guys and I had a blast fighting against you.

I also enjoyed killing some of you when we have formed a Truce. Sadly Gen. Hawk told me otherwise over the comms so I had to kill some of your MC men. Muahahaha

@Kro you sir are a full fledged airsoft ninja. Welcome to the club. For those that didn't know he was able to get 6 or 7 sword kills at Faction Wars.

Riddick Great Game MAN!!!!
My sword runs at 450 FPS, try to out run that! 35+ Sword/Knife Kills and counting.

I think knife kills are better if left as a simple tap on the shoulder with the plastic or rubber knife.

Anyway - killjoying aside, I'm sad I missed this event. I made other plans and used up my free weekend for EHII, which was canceled. *grumble*

Matt, when was the last time that you saw a knife fight turn into a physical fight, and not just a couple of guys having fun? The only knife fights I've seen involved Duke, Tombstone, Bill, Mono, and Switch. I know all of those persons would never let something like this digress to a full on fist fight. And I don't see "joe noob" showing up to games to knife fight with people.

While your point is valid, I think that with the people in this community who enjoy the hand to hand sparring, there is little to worry about. It's when that one new guy shows up to show off his 1337 skills and gets his a$$ handed to him that we need to worry.

What you are talking about is a double standard. If these individuals can knife fight on the field during a game, then why can't Joe Newb? Certainly he will assume he can, if those guys are doing it. It's supposed to be an Airsoft event, not a hand to hand combat sparring event. It's easy for you to say that it's no big deal, but when you are a land owner or an event promoter, you are liable.

Those people who enjoy hand to hand sparring can always get together on their own time and do it elsewhere.

You're right. I think as long as everyone realizes its a game, then it's ok. And isn't the ultimate point of airsoft combat simulation? Don't they give our men and women in uniform some sort of hand to hand training? So, having a knife fight in a game isn't all that unreasonable (atleast in my mind, but I have a weird brain). I mean, assume that they each ran out of ammo, had no sidearms. Are they just supposed to walk back to their base? Or are they supposed to draw their knives and go at it like to fat kids over the last piece of cake?

There's a difference between the "I'm out of ammo for my primary and my secondary, he's close enough for a knife kill" and the "Let's have a knife fight even though we both still have lots of BBs!" that this situation was, I believe. I may be wrong on the circumstances.

Oh man, Faction Wars part 2, that should be fun. I think we should have the Warlords actually get INTO the fight, in both FW the Warlords getting killed is rare if ever happening, like this last time not one warlord got killed. We need to place them in the front lines or something

My problem with putting warlords (and team commanders at normal games) on the front lines is that, in fact, they are the least effective there. Folks who sign up to run the team don't sign up for the trigger time it buys them...I do it because I love it when a plan comes together...

Standby for incoming transmission

Great Game, fun team...cool leader (Grahamc)...

Stoner and I would like to express our respect to the Kabila faction, and to our enemies, who make us stronger. It was a good fight.

About HONOR - I honored all of you by calling my hits and respawning. I honored you by not shooting you (ACU) in the face at 380 fps despite having your face cold in my HK ghost ring. Having bled from the face from a close-range exchange at Coffee Angels at identical range 20-30 feet, I feared injuring you. I will continue to give you the benefit of the doubt.

We should all realize that the level of equipment and armor worn has an effect on feeling hits. We, Vond and Thompson, apologize for not calling any such unfelt strikes.

We believe much "hits" controversy arises because gear-rich "vets", being generally well equiped, may not feel and thus report hits compared to lightly equiped players. How about a shirts vs skins game...angry red welts dont lie.

Finally...to those who cheat - you know who you are - and we are rapidly learning. Once burned, twice shy. We will crush you.

Your Brothers in Arms,

Brock Vond and Stoner Thompson

I'm up for the next 1 I will even volunteer to be a faction leader again (woodland). Planning would be a nice change rather than getting the position the morning of.
