Battle belt and Harness

Postby JustinK » Mon Jan 25, 2010 3:08 pm

Hello there, I couldn't find a thread with an answer to my question, so I thought I'd just start one.

I bought a Condor MOLLE Battle Belt thinking it would just be like any other belt, meaning you just put it around your waist clip it and then put your pouches on. I'm having second thoughts as I'm searching AGI, and I feel kinda stupid if my suspensions are true.

Question: Do I have to have a harness in order to make the battle belt work?

Thanks

You don't need a harness, you DO need a rigger belt.

You can also put any belt through it to work, though riggers belts are the norm.

You can get a regular ALICE belt through it as well.

In real life, mags and gear and all that weigh a lot more, so you'll want the weight distributed moreso on your shoulders.

In airsoft, the mags that take up the front of the belt are light and you don't really *need* an h-harness with it, though if this is the only gear you're wearing, suspenders will help keep the belt stable and from moving around when you are running or maneuvering.

A lot of people use the belt as an additional area for pouches when they wear plate carriers or vests.

The battle belt is a padded belt with a hole through it. From there, you need another belt to fit inside of it to keep it tightened. You can use whatever belt you can fit in there and will fit around you with the extra padding. I've seen ALICE belts being used with it, and Rigger's Belts.

If you're strapped for cash you could even get any regular belt from goodwill for a larger person, though that's not tacticool.

Awesome! That's really great to know. I wish they had something like that on AGI so I knew it. I've got a normal belt already, and an ALICE belt. So I think I should be fine.
Tacticool? wow... please... please no...

Once again, thanks a ton.

Wow... I so totally wish I'd known that. I've got the pouches I need here already, and the belt etc will be here probably by Wednesday. Oops. Thanks anyhow.
