SCAR vs 416

Postby Nark » Wed Aug 18, 2010 9:58 am

Hey guys so I need to buy a new rifle after I get a job. I Have my sights set on a VFC for sure but what do you guys think A SCAR or a 416? Both of them are cool and have rail space for accessories but the 416 has way more room. Tell me what you think.

i've heard from hear that the VFC scars gearbox is proprietary, but i don't know if the 416 is running a regular V2 or not. if it is, i'd go with the 416 for versatility, but in the end it's up to looks and what you'd prefer.
forgive my ignorance, it happens to everyone.

It's got proprietary battery connections and self shimming gears which no one else uses, but it's a standard V2 gearbox otherwise.

Good lick finding a VFC HK416 that doesn't have the horrible Umarex trademarks that make it look awful.

I would go with the VFC 416... Ive heard good things about it along with the scar, but from this info the 416 is better.

I've heard lots of good things about the JG 416 and 417. You can get one with nice trades if you order from overseas.

I saw one somewhere from overseas. It threw me off at first cause it had the big a$$ carbine stock on it. Let me see if I can find it again and I will PM you the link Nasty.

To the OP. They both have version 2 gear boxes, take M16 mags and shoot 6mm plastic bb's. Which one do you like the look of the best?

The 416 and 417 are the same rifle, the only difference is that the 417 is chambered for the 7.62 round and the 416 is 5.56, so the 417 has a different mag and slightly larger well area, but the same gun other than that. I personally don't think they'll make a 417 because of the mag size but that's just me.

Yeah, it's not like they made AR10's, SCAR H's, SR25's... Oh wait...

I have the VFC 416 and love it. When I eventually quit airsoft it'll be the last gun I sell.

Wow first off learn to read the post above yours! Secondly I know they made SCAR-H and all the rest but how long did it take for them to make the SCAR-H after the SCAR-L came out?? The SCAR-L/H came out in 2009 roughly and they just came out with a SCAR-H a year later so if the 416 came out in 2005 and they still haven't come out with a 417 some 5 years later do you think they're going to??
