KWA G36c barrel extension questions

Postby matteumayo » Wed Aug 18, 2010 9:28 pm

So, the KG36c's inner barrel is at ~250mm, which isn't bad, but I want more :3

What kind of advantages would I get by upgrading to a ~500mm 6.03 tightbore?

I currently just have the stock length with a 6.04 tightbore.

Also, are there any conversion kits to increase the handguard length and cover some of the inner barrel?

I would like to keep the regular G36c body though. (with the thin-ish top rail setup)

Thanks!

I just found this inner barrel extension:

http://www.airsoftpost.com/version-bull-airsoft-black-python-603mm-tight-bore-inner-barrel-509mm-p-24375.html

With this kit:

http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/gandp-g36-handguard-front-set-for-marui-g36c.html

Are there any recommendations/other combos that you guys know of that might be cheaper/better?

IIRC, STAR makes a bunch of outer barrels for the G36C. I personally have a KWA G36 with a G&P hand guard, except the 'K' model by G&P. Fits perfect.

So you have the one that I have linked?

Or a similar one? Could you perhaps link it? :D

Those two kits should work together perfectly.

You really need to go to a 6.01 barrel if you have a KWA. Your stock barrel is 6.05. There just honestly is not that much if anything of an improvement between 6.05 and 6.03. When you have an ACM gun and your barrel is 6.1 to 6.18 stock yeah 6.03 is a decent improvement but between 6.05 and 6.03 its really negligible.

I have personally installed this kit on a KWA G36C and was happy with how it turned out. The front end is compatible with most brands fore grip so if you can find them they make several different versions but don't always sell them separately. There is the G36 slim handguard, the G36 DMR handguard with attached bipod, the G36K handguard, the railed G36K handguard from above. You have lots of options.

Matt, I'm pretty sure I have that Star G36K kit on my shelf at Precision. It comes with an inner barrel, i want to say it's a 6.04 too. I just checked that site and it's not in our inventory. I'll add it when I get to work so you can look at it.

So, does the kit you linked have a 6.01mm tightbore with it?

EDIT: Would this tightbore work with this kit?

I believe so Matt. I'm not sure on the exact length of the G&P kit so I can't tell you 100%. As far as the Classic Army kit, no it does not include a tightbore.

So you didn't bother to take 10 seconds and look up onto Google and type "G&P G36K front set"?

Whatever, here you go.

It's sturdy enough, but the shade doesn't match too well, but I don't care as long as it isn't totally off.

The G&P G36 kit will house the 509mm barrel that you linked completely.
