I really need help.

I am just getting in to airsoft and have come in to a slight problem, here is my story:

I got what I thought was a good deal on a UTG AK 47. When I recieved it it was in parts and the seller told me just put it together it's easy. Long story short it turns out he got rid oof it because he couldn't get th gears to work right. I need to figure out what's wrong with it and how to put it back together, can any one in the Eugene area help me out please?

Post some pictures, lots of people here should be able to tell you exactly what to do. Is the gearbox already taken apart? If it is it will be a bit more difficult to put back together. If something is wrong with the gears any number of things could be wrong. Most likely they are either broken and need to be replaced, something is caught in them, or the motor is not screwed in far enough.

the gear box is taken apart and as far as I can tell looks perfect, there is no sign of wear on it, all of the teeth are there ect. The motor works but has a broken wire that can easily be soldered back on. Perhaps I just don't have the experience to put the gear box back together.

So you need a gearbox re-assembly and gun re-assembly? Mechbox.com has many videos on the subject. If you are looking for someone to do it for you, AONW in Cornelius or Rogue Military in Grants Pass can help you.

This is basically how the gearbox works:

Fairly easy to put back together, but you have to be careful when you put the other face of the gearbox on to close it. You will have to make sure the bushings(things the gear axles rotate in) line up with their holes and hold the spring guide in with a screwdriver or something. If you have a mosfet you will also have to turn the gear that moves the piston until it touches the first tooth, so it cycles correctly. You should be able to do it if you have all the right tools. After you put the gearbox together put it in the lower receiver with all the pins and screws and whatnot and test it with the battery.

Thank you all so much. I have basically narrowed it down to the piston that the gears hook in to is not moving.

If the gears aren't moving the piston it could be missing the last tooth. If you replace it make sure you get a piston with the same number of teeth.

The gears are siezing on the piston. I just talked to the guy and he told me that he put in a spring from another gun when he was uprading it. I am thinking that the spring may be to strong for the motor or he screwed up the piston/housing.

Well, if you live close to any airsoft type places you are gonna end up going in to get a new spring anyway so you may as well have the guys there look at it and put it together for you while you are there.
