TM Sig 552, what do you think?

Postby ZombieMan » Thu Sep 02, 2010 11:50 am

I was just offered one in a trade and wanted to get some points of view from people with more experience. So what do you guys think?

A Wii I just picked up. He also has a TM P90 with a tight bore and upgraded motor.

I wouldn't trade a Wii for a used TM AEG.

However this isn't just a wii it's an extra Wii. Ideally what I am hopping for is some one that will trade a decent kit in my size for it.

I have had mine for years. It's TM and I even got it used. I have used it for field and CQC and I recommend it more for CQC, but if you put a little bit-o-moneez into it, it will treat ya right outdoors as well.

If it's an extra Wii, I would say sure, depending on what he is giving with it. Extra mags? Battery? optics rail (not built on)?

The only extra he is throwing in is a TM FAMAS that is missing the mag.

That's not a good sign that the SIG is in good shape.

Good point, I think I should check them out first. What should I look for without tearing them apart to determine the condition?

Shoot it, listen for any strange sounds. Go through a whole hi-cap, not just a few rounds. During these test shots make sure you can adjust the hop-up. Switch it from semi to auto and safe to make sure all are working correctly (like semi shooting full auto). Since it's a TM, check the body for cracks. Check the battery wiring and as much of the wires as you can see. Make sure the rails and accessories are securely attached and not falling off. If you see glue or tape, it's a bad sign.

+1 and there it is. Just watch your a$$ and if you have any doubt.... don't do it. Simple as that.
