Stock inletting

I found an M14 grenade launcher stock for my G&G M14 that needs to replace the original one that caught on fire. Does anyone here have any experience with stock inletting?

what is the stock made of? wood or composite?

I've never heard of a grenade launcher stock. . .May I ask how you managed to catch yours on fire?

Its a stock set up for the M67 sight.

That's interesting. So you would have a grenade launcher attached and bring up the sights contained in the stock when you wanted to aim it?

For wood stocks they use a inletting rasp / file, Its a funky file with a bend at the end of an arm so you can work in the nooks and crannies. Its a specialized stockmakers tool. You can mimic it with a Dremel tool. Just go slowly and keep checking your work with an internal micrometer/calipers.

Indeed. I have a set of micrometers and calipers. Going to order the stock tuesday or so.

thats a m1 garand not m14 besides those grenades were fired with a blank cartradge (loaded with gun powder)

hmm there pretty rare then maybe late '50s to early 60's nam is when the m79 grenade launcher came out... other than sights the stock should be the same as a stsndard m14 (guessing) you got a lot to do to make it fit on a airsoft gun
